1990 Academy Award Nominee, Best Documentary Feature
This film provides a fascinating portrait of a nation in the 1960’s that can be in some ways compared to the America we inhabit today. The House Un-American Activities Committee protests, the birth of hippies, the Vietnam War Marches, the rise of the Black Panther Party, the start of the women’s movement, and the battles over “People’s Park.” The revolutionary movements on Berkley’s campus provided a microcosm of the turbulent times that we as Americans faced together during the 1960’s.
